- Add to your notebooks: epithet (pg. 1076), Homeric simile/epic simile (pg. 1077), the Greek law of hospitality (pg. 1049 at the top)
- Then read lines 822 – 827 and decide which of the 3 it is an example of…
- Next, read over examples of Homeric similes from pages 1070, 1083, and 1101.
- Name examples of epithets from the Odyssey
- What would be a good epithet for you?
- Read lines 10 – 15…what is Homer doing in this passage?
- Review last book of Part 1: “The Cattle of the Sun God” (pg. 1071 – 1074)
- Read page 1078.
- On pg. 1078, who exhibits the Greek law of hospitality?
- Where else in the story, so far, have we seen it mentioned?
- Nearly finished reading/listening to several more books of The Odyssey, Part 2 (pgs. 1079 – 1101) – 45 minutes
