ENGLISH – 3rd trimester – Day 32

 

·         WARMUP: Using the lists on page 805 and definition on page 1245, list 3 sets of foils from Romeo & Juliet (not including the example on page 1245 J)

·         REVIEW ANSWERS: The Comma Count is 32 (from Tuesday)

·         Divide your table into 2 or 3 smaller groups.

·         Each small group gets a dry-erase board.

o   On the FRONT of your board, LIST all the things your character did in ACT 1 (using your books).

§  TABLE 1: Romeo, Paris

§  TABLE 2: Juliet, Prince, Tybalt

§  TABLE 3: Lord Capulet, Lord Montague, Nurse

§  TABLE 4: Mercutio, Benvolio

o   On the BACK of the board, list 3 key quotes for each of your characters.

·         Before reading Act 2, we looked at famous 4 lines (pg. 846, lines 33-36) and attempted to paraphrase them at our tables;

·         Read summary of Act 2 scenes 1 and 2 (http://www.shakespeare-navigators.com/romeo/SceneTextIndex.html)

·         Next, we listened to Act 2.1-2 (pages 843-853) – 20 minutes
