DIRECTIONS:
1. Write
a 3 or 4 -word sentence (doer-doing-done to) like:
“Bayle collects shells” or “Jon hit the ball.”
2. LABEL
the 3 parts: A, B, C
IMPORTANT:
When reading A+B and asking “what” afterward, your C should be the answer…ex.
Bayle collect what? Shells.
3. RULE:
You may not ADD an A or a B or a C.
4. Next,
expand your ¾-word sentence into a sentence of 15 words without losing the
doer-doing-done to structure.
As an example, here is a 15-word expansion for “Jon
hit the ball.”
In
the middle of the sixth inning, Jon, the league leader, hit the curve ball.
NEXT:
Write down these 7 labels into your NOTES:
1.when 2.who 3.which one 4.what kind 5.where 6.how
7.why
Now, expand your 15-word sentence into a sentence of
35 words without losing the A, B, C (doer-doing-done to) structure.
Next, using your 35-word sentence from yesterday,
LABEL the chunks using the 7 labels from today’s notes.

what will happen later in a story
