ENGLISH - 1st trimester – Day 5
- Check homework/classwork: list of 10 things that could be done with the item you chose.
- After you laid out your homework, do BOTH of the following:
- if you do not have your book, WITHOUT ASKING ME, go to locker and get your Literature book (the purple one)…you won’t be marked “tardy” J
i. Then write your name on the inside cover
- Pick up copy of Literary Terms handout (on center table)
i. Review it while I take attendance.
- Watch Top 10 Superbowl Ads of 2013
- Using your list of 10 things from Friday, write a commercial that will persuade a person to buy the very thing they said they would never buy. (our first persuasive writing piece)
- TO BE COLLECTED tomorrow
- Review PLOT and CONFLICT from Literary terms handout (on page 1)
- In a small group, on a dry-erase board, write up a believable example of a movie that takes place in our FC lunchroom using each of the 6 plotline points.
- Homework:
ENGLISH homework:
1. Write script for 30 second commercial for the thing that you would never buy (from yesterday’s classwork)
- Think of one of your favorite books or films.
- Next, number your paper 1 – 6.
- Then, using your plotline notes, write a short sentence for each of the 6 plotline points as they relate to your film.
- Bring Literature book tomorrow
