ENGLISH – 2nd trimester – Day 5
· While I check homework: top half of “Handout 1 – The Prologue to Act One”
· BEGIN IMMEDIATELY: On a separate paper, rewrite the first 4 lines of the Prologue (on your handout)…dumb the language down so that a 2nd grader would understand it.
· If you have your signed contact sheet from yesterday, please add it to the LATE folder on the center table.
· Together, we completed the rest of page 1 and all of page 2 “Handout 1 - The Prologue to Act One” (taking notes on SONNETS)
· Watched short videos on Shakespeare
o “Introduction to Shakespeare Tragedies” (re: Standard Deviants – 8 minutes)

PLAYWRITING – Day 5
· We discussed what we had learned so far about playwriting.
· We went to computer lab to write our first play (with a partner)…we pretended there was a $1000 winner-take-all contest for the most entertaining play written.
