ENGLISH – 3rd trimester – Day 21

 

·         Collect classwork: Yesterday’s questions 1 - 4; and questions 1 – 9.

·         Choose any 4 of the following words and write out their definitions:

o   Tragedy, Comic Relief, Allusion, Foil, Soliloquy, Aside, Monologue, Blank Verse, Juxtaposition, Universal Theme, Irony, Catharsis, Noble, Oxymoron, Epithet

·         Pick up 2 handouts on center table:

o   “Dramatic Literary Terms” handout – test on these terms will be next week.

o   “Becoming Familiar with the Language of Shakespeare” handout.

·         Read Romeo & Juliet Act 1.1.101 - 235 (pages 812 – 817 in Literature book).

·         Watched 2 excerpts of Romeo & Juliet of same opening scene (old and new)

 

ENGLISH homework:

 

Complete: “Becoming Familiar with the Language of Shakespeare” handout.

 

Bring your Literature book (the purple one) every day.
