ENGLISH - HOURS 1 & 3 - Day 46

·         Collect homework: 17 questions on “Thank You, Ma’am”

·         Reviewed “Apostrophes in Contractions”

·         Practiced assembling a well-organized paragraph

a.       What were the organizational “clues” that help us correctly assemble this paragraph from start to finish?

·         Complete possessive practice 1 – 44 (which ones are not ‘s?)

·         Write a sentence with 2 subjects (Jennifer and Jackie). In one, use an apostrophe on Jackie only. In another, use an apostrophe for both Jennifer and Jackie.

a.       REMEMBER: To show joint possession, use ’s with the last noun only, if two people SHARE the same thing, they also SHARE an APOSTROPHE.

                                                  i.      Have you seen Joyce and Greg’s new camper?

                                                ii.      Hernando’s and Maria’s expectations were quite different.

Dramatic irony occurs when the readers know something (perhaps a “secret”) that other characters don’t. Write down as many of these instances as you can from Romeo & Juliet.
