ENGLISH – Day 36

Finish comma work from yesterday: Number one side of a paper 1 – 20; number the other side 1 – 20. Then, without writing on the handout, complete both sides of the comma handout on the center table.
See UPDATED grades on wall (includes Act 1 questions and Act 1 quotations test)

Have both your drawing and your answers to 1-20 on your desk…While I check your homework, number a paper 1 – 18 and complete more comma practice (for next Tuesday’s test)
RE: (yesterday) Write down what 4 things are being compared in the extended metaphor lines 177-184 (pg. 852)

1. Discussed Juliet's bird reference (pg. 852 - Act 2.2.176 - 184)
2. Discussed the extended “bird” metaphor (pg. 852 - Act 2.2.176 – 184)

4. What techniques did Shakespeare use in this scene to hold the readers’ interest?
