Today you will prove your understanding of both Shakespeare’s language and his many characters in Act 1 by reading and identifying the speaker of a series of quotations from Act 1 on a multiple choice test on Schoology.

AFTER SUBMITTING YOUR TEST… Open your books to Act 2, Scenes 1 and 2 (pages 843-853)

1. Review yesterday’s reading….Act 2, Scenes 1 and 2 (pages 843-853)
2. Write down what 4 things are being compared in the extended metaphor lines 177-184 (pg. 852)

3. Like our Queen Mab drawings, draw a PICTURE that includes 6 quotations from the following Shakespearean (extended) metaphor from Romeo and Juliet Act 2.2.
ROMEO

 27   As glorious to this night, being o'er my head
 28   As is a winged messenger of heaven

 29   Unto the white-upturned wondering eyes
 30   Of mortals that fall back to gaze on him

Turn in 2, 3 (above) FOR CREDIT.
Next, number one side of a paper 1 – 20; number the other side 1 – 20. Then, without writing on the handout, complete both sides of the comma handout on the center table.
