ENGLISH - Day 43

 

1.      Open your book to line 94 - 96, Act 3, Scene 5. Answer the following questions:

1.      Who is Juliet speaking to?

2.      Look at the big speech just above this quote…what was recommended to Juliet?

3.      There are 2 different ways to interpret the meaning of what she is saying. Look at the dashes around the word “dead”. What are the 2 meanings of this line?

4.      What is the subtext of this line...in other words, what do you imagine Juliet was thinking while she was saying this?

JULIET: Indeed, I never shall be satisfied With Romeo,

till I behold him— dead— Is my poor heart so for a kinsman vex'd.
