ENGLISH – 3rd trimester – Day 18

1.     Predict the next moment for any 3 of the 7 characters (Capulet, Lady Capulet, Nurse, Romeo, Juliet, Tybalt, Paris) by filling in the following template for each:

a.       Because (fill in with a character’s name) has said (or done) ___(name something significant that the character has said or done so far)_____, next he will probably __(make a prediction)__________.

2.      Using the lists on page 805 and definition on page 1245, list 3 sets of foils from Romeo & Juliet (not including the example on page 1245 J)

3.      Before reading Act 2, we looked at famous 4 lines (pg. 846, lines 33-36) and attempted to paraphrase them.

4.      Read summary of Act 2 scenes 1 and 2 (http://www.shakespeare-navigators.com/romeo/SceneTextIndex.html)

5.      Next, we listened to Act 2.1-2 (pages 843-853) – 20 minutes

PLAYWRITING – Day 18

DUE:

1. 3 – 4 minutes/typed pages
1. If you do not have TYPED or it is not 3-4 pages long, fill out PINK sheet on center table.
2. With a partner, read someone else’s script. As you read, imagine the actors on a stage with the volume turned OFF.
1. Write down “the dominos” (chain reaction) that you see in the script.
2. What happens first? What happens next?

                                                              i.      Does one thing CAUSE the other to happen?

1.      If YES, how are they linked to each other?

3. Stopped above activity early and read as many of each other’s scripts as time permitted.
