ENGLISH - 1st trimester – Day 3

 

WARMUP:

  1. On a clean sheet of paper, write down what you could do differently if you believed every word of the quotation…

  2. Shared good bystander shutdown phrases and techniques
  3. CHALLENGE/CONTEST:
    1. Write down as many examples of contractions as you can. (ex. can’t…)

4. Discuss contractions (and a challenge to name a contraction whose apostrophe stood in for 3 letters

 

5. Watched several Cyber bullying and Power of Bystanders videos

 

6. Individually we…

1.      listed 10 abilities for the cyborg.

2.      chose our favorite ability of the 10 and then

3.      created both a back-story (past) for #2 and

 

SAVE classwork from today – we will add on to it tomorrow and turn it in for credit.

 

Remind parents to send me a brief email from their preferred email address with student name in the Subject line (if they haven’t already done so).

 

ENGLISH homework:

 

Add a 5-sentence paragraph to today’s cyborg work that explains what your cyborg hopes to do with its incredible ability in the future. This should be something positive.
