b. Make up a clever connection between the spelling of the vocabulary word and its definition…put your connection into a little story…
1. For example: Licentious – Lie/Cent/Lice = morally unrestrained, immoral
a. It is immoral if you only paid a cent for her iPad.
· RED = definition
· Licentious: The immoral lice loved giving the finger.
· Paucity: My pa ran into the city because of the lack of water.
· Fatalistic: The fat pig knew his fate was to become bacon.
· Obtrude: The rude mouse always intruded in the human’s cheese.
· Pensive: The meditative pen wrote a mean letter to her enemy, the pencil.
· Lackadaisical: Lack of enthusiasm (monotone)
· Alienate: The aliens turned away Nate.
· Elated: TED has “high” spirits.
· Epigram: Only the witty pigs can fly.
