ENGLISH - 1^st trimester – Day 6

 

1.      While I collect homework: commercial + 6 plot points on a movie or story

2.      Please pick up a copy of this week’s vocabulary words (on center table)

·         You will have a fill-in-the-blank test on Friday

3.      Show grade sheet and how to read it

4.      In a small group, list all the rules you can think of that explain when we capitalize words in English.

·         Ex. at the beginning of a new sentence

5.      Add any missing notes on Capitalization to your whiteboards as I show you notes

 

 

 

 

6.      Read some of yesterday’s commercials!

7.      120 second PREVIEW of “The Most Dangerous Game” – formed first impressions of short story

8.      Discussed the difference between a guess and an inference

9.      As you listen to the story…

·         Write 3 predictions/inferences from the story using the following format: “Because the story says…I predict…” (TO BE COLLECTED TOMORROW)

 

ENGLISH homework:

 

Complete EXERCISE I (just the left-hand backside of your vocabulary sheet) for tomorrow.

 

Study for vocabulary test on Friday (the test will have a word bank and 20 fill-in-the-blank sentences – you provide the correct vocabulary word for each sentence)
