ENGLISH - 1st trimester – Day 29

 

1.      Collect homework: subtext 1-20…

2.      Expand your 35-word sentence into a 100-word sentence without losing the a, b, c (doer-doing-done to) structure.

    1. USE: AAAWWUBBIS WORDS (as, although, after, while, when, unless, because, before, if, since).
    2. ANSWER some of the 7 questions from yesterday…

1.when 2.who 3.which one 4.what kind 5.where 6.how 7.why

3.      Read “A Closer Look – The Other Man in the Wall” - The Story Behind “The Cask of Amontillado”

4.      DISCUSS the meaning of the last paragraph of “The Cask of Amontillado” (page 292).

    1. While you read “Poe’s Final Days” (pgs. 298 – 301), write out a timeline that shows 7 key events that lead to Poe’s death.
    2. FINISH for homework.

o    List, in order, 7 key events from these pages.

·         Finish the World’s Thinnest Book assignment

o    For each of the 10 characters

§  List 4 things we know about each of them

·         (40 total)

§  Create 2 book titles for each of the 10 characters

·         (20 titles total)

·         Study for Friday’s vocabulary test (Lesson 4: elude, fallow, blight…)
