DAY 3: Human Footprint unit
1. WARMUP: Write down the answers to the following:
A. In one sentence, describe the main “problem” that the film Human Footprint tried to explain to us?
B. How could this problem IMPACT you?
§ Write down 2 specific examples from your own life (that were not mentioned in the video) that illustrate your personal understanding of impact.
C. What is a possible solution to this problem?
§ What can be done? Who should do what? Why?
2. With words, “show” one of the most interesting images/moments from the video (5 sentences).
3. Revised “show” paragraphs by:
· eliminating the words “you, your, you’re”
· writing it in 3rd person
· adding the word “Imagine” to the beginning of the paragraph.
4. Combine 1A and 1C into a single statement. This will become your thesis statement. Now add on your “imagine” paragraph and presto, an opening paragraph.
5. Hand out “Human Footprint” Task Sheet
6. Watched 2 short news clips:
