ENGLISH - 1^st trimester – Day 8

1. Check homework: vocabulary handout #1-13
2. Return all graded assignments
1. First/last name, date, hour on EVERY ASSIGNMENT
3. As a group, make a list of 10 conflicts/complications (large and small) from MDG
1. For each conflict, also tell

                                                              i.      Internal or external

                                                            ii.      Man vs. ? (see your Literary Term handout for list of different conflicts)

                                                          iii.      Label the MAIN CONFLICT as “C”

                                                          iv.      List the CLIMAX of the story

                                                            v.      Label the complications that took place in the Rising Action as “R”

4. Using your Literary Terms handout (page 2) – read the “Point of View” paragraph noting the 3 different kinds of narrators – then make up one sentence for the story “The Most Dangerous Game” using each of the 3 kinds of narrators – HOMEWORK: TO BE CHECKED TOMORROW IN CLASS

ENGLISH homework:

1. Make up one sentence for each of the 3 kinds of narrators from the story “The Most Dangerous Game” (1^st person, limited omniscient, omniscient)
2. Study for vocabulary test on Friday (the test will have a word bank and 20 fill-in-the-blank sentences – you provide the correct vocabulary word for each sentence)
3. Test on “The Most Dangerous Game” Monday
