ENGLISH – HOURS 1 & 3 – Day 34

·         Collect yesterday’s classwork:

o   12 definitions + questions/answer key

o   Poe poster (with 20 titles and 4 character characteristics – STAPLED TO POSTER)

·         Collect:

    • Completed vocabulary sheet (ex. I & II)

·         TAKE vocabulary test first…

  • Take the “Cask of Amontillado” test.

·         After TURNING it in…

    • On a clean sheet of paper, each student is to compose a NEW 3-word, then 15-word, then 35-word, then 100-word sentence (according to the same rules we used the other day.)
      • The KEY RULE is they may not add another A, B, or C (subject, verb, or object)

·         Finish 3, 15, 35, 100-word sentences for Monday

1.      Finish OPEN-BOOK TAKE-HOME TEST (worth nearly 5 homework assignments).

2.      Complete a,b,c,d,e (below)…

a.       Choose one of the following characters from Romeo and Juliet.

·   1. Capulet 2. Lady Capulet 3. Nurse 4. Romeo 5. Juliet 6. Tybalt 7. Paris

b.      In one sentence, explain how this character would have behaved DIFFERENTLY than you (in some made up situation).

c.       In another sentence, explain why this character would have behaved DIFFERENTLY than you.

d.      Write up one sentence with a comma splice in it, then fix it with a FANBOYS and circle the FANBOY.

e.       Write up one sentence with an AAAWWUBBIS and circle the AAAWWUBBIS.

·   TO BE COLLECTED

3.      Take practice quotations test (from classroom blog)

ENGLISH homework – HOURS 4 & 5:

·         Finish Act 1 packet (take-home test)

·         Study Romeo & Juliet Act 1 quotes on blog entry for Friday’s test…”Who Said It”
