ENGLISH – HOURS 1 & 3 – Day 20

·         Collect homework: Interloper’s Parts 1 & 2 

·         TO BE COLLECTED THIS HOUR…As a way to begin studying for your upcoming test on MONDAY on “The Interlopers” pgs. 232 – 243 on Thursday, today you will create

1. a practice test

2. a separate answer KEY

·   Using your book, create 15short-answer style questions and a separate answer KEY

·         NO fill-in-black or true/false style questions

·         TURN IN FOR CREDIT

·         In groups of 4, assign parts and read ALOUD this short play about Edgar Allan Poe entitled “Lov’d Alone – The Tragic Story of Edgar Allan Poe” by Catherine Gourley

·         As you read, individually write down 20+ notes about his life.

ENGLISH – HOURS 4 & 5 – Day 20

·         DIRECTIONS:

o   As, feeling right now today, down warm-up a 10-word you sentence about write how are.

·         Of all the social offenses listed below, which one do you consider the most offensive and which is the least offensive?

o   Planning to trick someone  /

o   Lying to parents  / 

o   Killing someone for revenge  / 

o   Advising someone to marry for money  / 

o   Two families having a feud  / 

o   Selling poison  / 

o   Killing someone by mistake while fighting  / 

o   Cursing  / 

o   Killing someone in self-defense  /

o   Crashing a party  / 

o   Marrying against parents' wishes  /

·         Looked at Shakespeare’s opening Prologue/sonnet to Romeo & Juliet (pg. 807) by reading it many different ways.

·         On a separate paper, using your phone or a dictionary, define the following18 words from the prologue…
