ENGLISH – HOURS 1 & 3 – Day 21

1.      Look over PREFIX pink sheet…then…

2.      Take PREFIX test #2

3.      REVIEW short story: “The Interlopers” (pgs. 232-243)

4.      Discuss…

a.       feuds vs. fights, battles and war, and rivalries in sports

b.      Setting to create mood?

c.        POV – 1st, 2nd, 3rd (omniscient, limited omniscient, objective)

d.      Conflict – people vs. ___________

e.       Irony – situational, dramatic, verbal

5.      Irony videos x 3 from Ted-ED (2014) !!

6.      Finish Thursday’s reading of “Lov’d Alone…” and writing at least 20 notes about it.

ENGLISH homework – HOURS 1 & 3:

·         Study for tomorrow’s test on “The Interlopers” pgs. 232 – 243

·         Study for “Lesson Three” vocabulary test on Friday (the test will have a word bank and 20 fill-in-the-blank sentences – you provide the correct vocabulary word for each sentence)

  5. Write up a line of iambic pentameter that describes a happy moment in your life.
